Let me say to beging with that I know nothing about JavaScript, let alone Visual Studio,MSSQL servers, etc. - In short, all the things one needs to know about in order to get the tracking system to work. I am using BitPim as a means of getting into the phone and its subsequent system. From what I have read on other places on the internet, there is no way that Verizon is going to let any of the information out to the general public when they can charge so much for their chaperone system. I believe that this is my phone and my data I am paying for and shoud have access to it in any way I wish.
That being said. I tried to install the Visual Studio 2008 since I kept getting errors with the VS2005 and the associated .net framework. I installed the Visual Studio 2008 - success.
Then came MSSQL server; again I had to use 2008 - install success.
.Net 2.0 install, success.
Downloaded NetBeans 6.1 even in case I needed it or got into trouble - success.
FTP - TrackerV2 to website - success
Changed setting in website with IIS console. - success
Then came the phone - Verizon Voyager - it will not let me load any .jar .jad into the phone. I got the HTTPS test .jad and the GPS.jad and NO JOY into loading them onto phone. I searched through the file directory and was unable to see any other .jar or .jad files there.
My belief is that with Varizon, I am hosed. But I'm not willing to give up without a good try.
I would like to make this work - Greg
I have tried this site on the phone
http://www.websmithing.com/gpstracker/displaymap2.aspx
but the phone will not let me select a route
Perhaps what would be needed is a list of Carriers this program will work on - Verizon so far seems useless.
